CSF and Vascular Headache Clinic

Two specialists. One visit. One plan.

Headaches with a pressure or vascular cause often get worked up in pieces. A headache visit in one office, the imaging read in another, a procedural opinion months later, and nobody holding the whole picture.

This clinic puts those pieces in one room. A headache specialist and a neurointerventional physician review your imaging together, see you on the same day, and agree on a plan with you before you leave. Any testing or treatment that follows stays within the same practice, with the same team following you through it.

Who this clinic is for

  • Headache that is worse upright and better lying down, or the reverse
  • Suspected spinal CSF leak
  • Known idiopathic intracranial hypertension with headache that persists
  • Pulsatile tinnitus, a whooshing sound in time with your heartbeat
  • A vascular or venous finding on imaging that hasn't been explained
  • Daily headache where imaging has raised a question nobody has answered

What happens on the day

  1. 1.

Before you arrive. Send your records and imaging ahead of time. Both physicians review them together before your visit.

  2. 2.

Your headache evaluation. A full headache history and examination with the headache specialist.

  3. 3.

Your imaging, explained. The neurointerventional physician reviews your scans with you and assesses whether a pressure or vascular cause needs further workup.

  4. 4.

One conversation. Both physicians sit down with you together, explain what they found, and agree on a plan with you.

  5. 5.

Your written plan. You leave with one evaluation and treatment plan carrying both physicians' names.

If you need more than a visit

If further testing or a procedure is needed, it happens within the same practice. Your headache care continues afterward with the same team, so the plan doesn't get lost between offices.

For referring physicians

Send us the patient whose headache has an imaging or pressure question attached. Both physicians see the patient on one visit. You receive a joint written evaluation with a clear answer and a plan, and routine care returns to you.

For patients with IIH, we treat the headache. Vision stays with the patient's ophthalmologist.
